NIGHT-TIME SKINCARE ROUTINE

Well, this post is about something which most of the people skip or feel too lazy to follow it. Hmmmm…..yes, it is night time skincare routine. I agree that even I used to skip it when I started it during my schooling. Firstly, let me tell you guys why it is important to follow a skincare routine before going to bed. After full day working in an air conditioned office and exposing ourselves to pollution, our gentle skin loses moisture; oil and dirt get accumulated, but when we are sleeping, our skin goes on a repair mechanism thereby healing the damage that was caused during the day time. Wouldn’t it be great if we give extra supplements to our skin before going to bed and make our skin heal in an effective manner? This is the reason why every one of us should pamper our skin before sleeping. A night skincare routine should be followed to keep your skin healthy, glowing and beautiful not just for the present, but also for maintaining the same in the future too.

NIGH-TIME SKINCARE ROUTINE

The one I am going to share is my personal routine which I have been following for years and have given a good result. It may slightly deviate from others when you search for something related to this topic on the internet. It will take a maximum of 10 minutes. But when we are sleepy even this 10 minutes seems to be like an era . But trust me, once you are used to it and experience the striking change, this will not be a big deal to follow. All the products are mentioned below are affordable and work well.

Okay after giving a big introduction (sorry :P, but worth reading) let me jump into the topic.

These are very simple, all you have to do is

REMOVE THE MAKEUP (if your makeup is on)

If your makeup is on, then the very first step to do is remove all your make using a makeup remover or oil. I personally use olive oil to remove both face and eye makeup.

CLEANSE

Cleansing your face in the night before sleeping is very important. It removes the excess oil, dirt, and germs from our face. Choose a good face wash or facial cleanser according to your skin type. I use the same facial cleanser which I have mentioned in my morning skincare routine. That works best for me as my skin type is oily to normal. You can also try the same as it is affordable as well as effective and check if it works the same for you too. If you have a dry skin, then try for something which contains Aloe vera or moisturizers in them. NEVER USE HOT WATER TO WASH YOUR FACE. It will strip off the natural oil from your face as a result of which, your skin will lose moisture and will look lifeless.

TIP!!!

If you have an oily skin, cleanse your face with Luke warm water. It would melt and help in breaking down the hard oily particles that are stored into your pores.

 TONE

Toning helps you to soothe your skin and removes the dirt which maybe present even after cleansing. I use Banjara's premium ROSE WATER as a toner. I use this same toner in the morning too and in my morning skincare routine, I have explained the main purpose of cleansing and toning in detail. There are many other toners available in the market , you can try the one which suits you best in following your skincare routine. I prefer this because it is natural moreover I feel that it kind of protects my skin from pimples and breaking outs. I would suggest this as it is quite affordable and will not show any side effects. It is suitable for all skin types.

Tip!!!

MOISTURIZE WITH NIGHT CREAM

Now it’s time to give your skin all the moisture and hydration which it has lost when you were busy with your hectic schedule in the day time. I personally love to add in lots and lots of moisture to my skin before hitting the bed. You will never regret in providing your skin with an excess of moisture.

The night cream, that I use is Boroline which is a very old Ayurvedic antiseptic cream. This was suggested to me by my father and I am religiously using it since my school days. This is seriously a magic in a tube. It does wonders when it comes to moisturizing and healing. I would strongly recommend you to try out at least once and let me know your experience with it. I will do a separate review on it because there are sooooo many benefits from it. If you have a dry skin, then use Boroline  every night and say bye to your dry flaky skin. I apply it all over my face and gently massage it so that it gets absorbed into the skin. As it has a healing property in it, it repairs the damage overnight, locks in all the moisture and keeps the skin hydrated. The amount of cream you use depends on your skin type.

If u want to get rid of chapped lips, then this is your savior. My lips don’t get chapped but still I use this over my lips every single night, because when I wake up in the morning, this removes all the dead cells from my lips very easily just by rubbing it smoothly.

It is quite reasonable and is available any every medical shop.

EYE CREAM OR EYE SERUM

Eye creams should be at the night time to prevent dark circle and fine lines. Skins under the eyes are very sensitive and soft, so special care should be given to this part of our face. this is the part which gets dehydrated sooner than any other part. There are various under eye creams that may work best for different people. When it comes to me, I choose to use vitamin E oil under my eyes. Vitamin E is very much needed for under eyes. Almost all the eye creams contain vitamin E, so why not apply vitamin E oil directly under the eye. It has endless benefits not just for under eyes, but for your face, hair and skin too. You would thank yourself in future for supplementing your skin with Vitamin E. The only which I use is Alentaz vitamin E oil. It is rich in anti-oxidant and is has certified organic ingredients. So it is completely safe for skin. Using it regularly will reduce your dark circles and over time you may notice that your dark circles are gradually disappearing. It reduces wrinkles, fine lines and has anti-aging property.

 Tip!!!

You can add it to your body lotions also or you use it directly over your face instead of using any moisturizer. Apply it on your lashes to make it thicker and longer.

SPOT TREATMENT

If you have a pimple or acne on any part of your face then you can do spot treatment before sleeping. Night time is best for allowing you skin to treat your pimple or any sort of skin problems. I have an oily T-zone (nose and areas surrounding nose and forehead) because of which I tend to get pimples around my nose. I use Dermocalm Lotion which is been prescribed by my dermatologist. I have been using this for almost 4 years. Whenever I get a pimple, I apply this lotion over it and as the name says, it calms down my pimples and dries it out in a day or two. This is completely safe and has shown similar effects on others too. It is being marketed by a reputed pharma company ( GlaxoSmithKline). If you are not sure about it then I suggest you test it on your skin first and then proceed. These are my opinions and you are under no compulsion to use it. 

You can also apply it all over you face as a night cream as it provides moisture to the face and at the same time works on pimples and acne too (Yayy!! two in one 🙂 ) I keep switching my routine between this and Boroline.

That is all. You are done. Since I have explained everything in detail it may take the time to read. But believe me; it will not take more than 10 minutes when you start doing it.

Before moisturizing your lips, have a glass of water. Because it’s not just your face that needs hydration, your body needs it too. Drinking lots of water is the secret of healthy and beautiful skin. It flushes out all the toxins from your body.
